Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick provided a detailed update on the condition of the Catalan club’s 18-year-old winger, Lamine Yamal.
On November 2, in Matchday 11 of La Liga, Barcelona hosted Elche at home and secured a 3-1 victory. Lamine Yamal scored a goal, playing 88 minutes on the pitch.
His injury needs to be managed; he’s disciplined. He has to train, do treatment... he’s doing it. I can’t say the injury is over; it comes and goes. And he has to manage it.
Earlier reports indicated that the 18-year-old had suffered a groin injury. It was noted that Lamine Yamal experienced discomfort during El Clasico against Real Madrid (2-1), which took place on October 26.
Lamine Yamal is a product of La Masia, Barcelona’s famed academy, and has been part of the club’s first team since July 2023. This season, he has recorded four goals and five assists in nine matches across all competitions. His contract with the club runs through the summer of 2031. Transfermarkt currently estimates the player at €200 million.
After 11 matchdays in the current La Liga season, the Blaugrana sit second in the league table with 25 points.
