Barcelona Sporting Director Deco answered a question about the possible return of Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi on loan. The Argentine played for the Catalan club from 2003 to 2021.

Leo Messi on short term loan? I don’t think that’s possible. Leo has a contract. I don’t think it’s ever been brought up… Messi is always Messi, he can always offer something; but it’s not something we’ll talk about right now.
Messi has played for Inter Miami since 2023. In the 2024-25 season, he played 48 matches for the team across all competitions, scoring 43 goals and recording 24 assists. His contract with the club expires in December 2028. The Transfermarkt website estimates Messi's worth at 18 million euros.
