Barcelona are concerned that 18-year-old forward Lamine Yamal’s groin injury, sustained this season, could develop into a chronic condition, reports The Sun.
According to the source, Lionel Messi, who also played for the Catalan club, suffered a similar issue early in his career but ultimately made a full recovery.
Earlier reports indicated Yamal might require surgery if the discomfort persists.
This season, the forward has appeared in eight matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and registering five assists. His contract with the club runs through the summer of 2031, and his market value is estimated at €200 million by Transfermarkt.
