
Spanish midfielder Fermin Lopez of Barcelona was named the Champions League player of the week, according to UEFA’s official website. Lopez scored a hat-trick in the third group stage match against Olympiacos.
The match ended in a decisive victory for the Catalans, 6-1.
In the voting, Lopez outperformed Athletic Bilbao striker Iñaki Williams, PSV winger Dennis Man, and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha.
Currently, PSG lead the Champions League standings with nine points, tied with Bayern Munich in second place. Inter Milan, Arsenal, and Real Madrid follow in third place, each with nine points.
