Barcelona Officially Accused of Corruption Involving Negreira Case

Football club Barcelona has been officially accused of making illegal payments to former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees, José María Enríquez Negreira.

The total amount paid over nearly 20 years is reported to be around 7.2 million euros, according to One Football.

From November to February of this year, Barcelona presidents Joan Laporta and Joan Gaspart, vice president Elena Fort, as well as former coaches Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde, will be required to testify.

The court is also requesting original contracts with companies Dasnil 95 SL and Nilsad SCP, which are allegedly linked to payments for refereeing services from 2001 to 2014.

Earlier, it was reported that Real Madrid were suspected by Barcelona of orchestrating a smear campaign against Yamal, the Catalan team's winger.
