Barcelona Partner with Congolese Government to Promote Sports Development

FC Barcelona has signed a four-year sponsorship agreement with the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) aimed at developing sports, culture, and promoting messages of peace within the country. This information was announced on the club’s official website.

As part of this partnership, all professional teams in the Barça organization will wear training kits featuring the slogan "DR Congo, Heart of Africa" on the back. Additionally, a special exhibition dedicated to the DRC will be set up at the Camp Nou stadium.

The agreement also includes plans to establish sports academies in the Congo focusing on football, basketball, and futsal. Local athletes and coaches will have the opportunity to learn techniques from the Barcelona training system.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the deal is valued at 44 million euros. It’s worth noting that in June, the DRC government also signed a cooperation agreement with the French club AS Monaco that extends until 2028.
