According to Sport.es, Barcelona plan to announce a contract extension with 35-year-old goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny after completing the transfer of goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol.
Barcelona are considering the duo of Garcia and Szczęsny as their main goalkeeping tandem for next season, with the Pole serving as their number two. Current backup goalkeeper Iñaki Peña is reportedly set to leave the team and may terminate his agreement. The future of the main goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains uncertain.
Earlier it became known that Szczęsny will extend his contract for one more season with an option to extend it for a second season. His current agreement expires on June 30. Last season he played 30 matches in all tournaments, keeping 14 clean sheets.
