Barcelona President Says Return of Messi as a Player Is Unrealistic

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, shared his opinion on Lionel Messi, the forward for Inter Miami who previously was a cornerstone player for the Blaugrana.

Joan Laporta
Out of respect for Messi, our players, and our members, it’s not the time to speculate with unrealistic scenarios. Despite how everything happened with Leo Messi’s departure, I have no regrets. Barça is above anyone else. It’s not what we all wanted, but it was not possible at that moment.

Messi played for Barcelona from 2003 to 2021. During that time, he appeared in 778 matches, scoring 672 goals and providing 303 assists. He won La Liga ten times, the Copa del Rey seven times, and the UEFA Champions League four times.
