English club Birmingham City announced plans to build a new stadium. The club's current arena, St Andrew's, has a capacity of 29,409 spectators.
The proposed arena is designed to hold 62,000 fans and is estimated to cost around £2.5 billion. It is also expected that the stadium will be equipped with a retractable roof and a movable pitch.
It is noted that a distinctive feature of the new stadium's design will be 12 towers styled as smokestacks, referencing the region's industrial past.

According to the media reports, construction of the new stadium is planned for completion by 2030.
Birmingham City currently compete in the English Championship.
After 15 rounds of the current season in England's second tier, the team occupies 11th place in the league table, holding 21 points.
