Former Liverpool defender and football analyst Jamie Carragher believes that the Merseyside club’s head coach, Arne Slot, should consider starting forward Mohamed Salah less frequently.
Carragher noted that although he holds Salah in high regard, this season the Egyptian has not provided adequate support to Liverpool’s right-back, which the expert attributes to Salah’s current physical condition.

He should always start at Anfield because Liverpool will be on top, around the edge of the box and more often than not he scores in those situations today; but I do think in the away games and helping your full-back, I don’t think Salah should be starting every game right now, certainly away from home, with the form he’s in.
This season, the 33-year-old Egyptian has played eight Premier League matches, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His contract with Liverpool runs until summer 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his market price at 45 million euros.
