The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced on its website that Crystal Palace have filed an appeal against the decision by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The appeal comes after Crystal Palace were excluded from participating in the Europa League for the 2025/26 season due to suspicions of breaching rules related to ownership of multiple football clubs.
In a press release, CAS clarified that Crystal Palace insist on overturning UEFA's decision and seek to restore the club's right to compete in the upcoming Europa League tournament.
Currently, the conflicting parties are preparing and submitting written arguments to CAS, as required by arbitration regulations. A hearing date will be set after the document exchange phase is complete.
There have been earlier reports indicating that Nottingham Forest will replace Crystal Palace in the aforementioned tournament. UEFA justified its decision to exclude Crystal Palace based on shared ownership with the French club Lyon.
