Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo pulled a lighthearted prank on legendary Argentine forward Lionel Messi, who plays for Inter Miami, in celebration of his 38th birthday.
The Ecuadorian player shared a photo on social media of himself alongside the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner during a match between Argentina and Ecuador.
In the image, Caicedo is seen skillfully controlling the ball while Messi is falling backward after losing his balance.
So far this season, Messi has played 23 matches across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists. His contract with Inter Miami extends until the end of December 2025. Transfermarkt estimates Messi's market value at 18 million euros.
Earlier on his birthday, Inter Miami was unable to secure a win against Brazilian side Palmeiras in a match for the Club World Cup taking place in the USA.
