Brazilian forward Joao Pedro of Chelsea spoke out about the incident involving PSG coach Luis Enrique following the final of the 2025 Club World Cup, where Chelsea triumphed 3-0.
After the final whistle, Luis Enrique grabbed Joao Pedro by the throat and pushed him. Following the incident, the Spanish coach revealed details of the confrontation, stating that he approached to separate the players.
I went to protect Andrey Santos, I saw their players were crowding Andrey. Like a good Brazilian, I went to protect my friend. A lot of people were arriving and in that mess, I ended up getting shoved. It’s part of it. They didn’t know how to lose, but that’s football. Losing is part of the game too. Now it’s our turn to celebrate.
It's important to note that this was PSG's first defeat in the final this season; prior to this, the team claimed three domestic trophies and made history by winning the UEFA Champions League, defeating Inter 5-0.
Moreover, this was PSG's first experience in the Club World Cup.
Earlier, it was reported that Chelsea has now won the Club World Cup for the second time in its history.
