FIFA reported that from June 1 to September 2 football clubs around the world completed about 12,000 international transfers totaling $9.76 billion.This figure is a record, exceeding last year's by over 50%.
English clubs led spending with $3.19 billion (Deloitte reports the Premier League alone spent $4 billion). Next were Germany with $980 million and Italy with $950 million.
