Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe told The Times that head coach Ruben Amorim will have a total of three years to improve the club’s standings.
He said this is the ideal timeframe, as changes cannot be made quickly. He cited Mikel Arteta’s early struggles in his first two Arsenal seasons as an example.

The press, sometimes I don’t understand. They want overnight success. They think it’s a light switch. You know, you flick a switch and it’s all going to be roses tomorrow. You can’t run a club like Manchester United on knee-jerk reactions to some journalist who goes off on one every week.
Amorim took charge of Manchester United in November 2024. In the 2025-26 season, the team played eight matches under him across all competitions, winning three, drawing one, and losing four.
After seven Premier League rounds in 2025-26, the Red Devils are 10th in the table with 10 points. Their eighth-round match against Liverpool will take place on October 19 at 18:30 GMT+3.
