According to Telecomasia.net, the Italian club Como expressed keen interest in 25-year-old midfielder Eduard Spertsyan from FC Krasnodar and the Armenian national team. Last season, Como finished in tenth place in Serie A.
Our sources indicate that head coach Cesc Fabregas and sporting director Carlalberto Ludi were personally interested in bringing Spertsyan to the team, envisioning him as a key player in the attacking midfielder role.
Italian representatives communicated the potential transfer through European intermediaries. However, our sources reveal that agents for the captain of Krasnodar advised their client against the move to Como due to uncertainty surrounding coach Cesc Fabregas, who was rumored to leave for Milan’s Inter at the beginning of June.
As a result, the club turned its attention to other options and, in mid-June, acquired midfielder Martin Baturina from Dinamo Zagreb and the Croatian national team for this position. Insider Fabrizio Romano reported that the transfer fee amounted to 17 million euros, with an additional five million as bonuses.
Last season, Spertsyan was part of the Krasnodar team that won the Russian championship. During the title-winning campaign, he played 28 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists. Transfermarkt estimates the Armenian national player at 25 million euros.
