Correa Banned for Five Matches for Insulting Referee

The disciplinary committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided to suspend Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa for five matches due to insulting a referee.

The Argentine received a red card at the end of the 27th round of the La Liga match against Getafe, which ended 1-2. He insulted the referee and his mother with profane language, which was noted in the match report.

According to Marca, Correa's suspension includes four matches for insulting the referee and one match for the red card. This suspension applies to both La Liga games and the Copa del Rey.

So far this season, Correa has played 38 matches for Atletico in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. The club is currently in third place in the La Liga standings, with 56 points.
