De la Fuente appointed as new head coach of the Spanish national football team

Luis de la Fuente has been appointed as the new head coach of Spain's national team, the press service of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

The 61-year-old specialist replaced Luis Enrique as head coach of the national team. Enrique was sent off after Spain's departure from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Spanish team lost to Morocco in the round of 16 of World Cup 2022 (0-0, 0-3 on penalties).

De la Fuente previously worked with Spain's youth and junior national teams. Under his leadership, Spain became the silver medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
