
Central defender for the La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national football team, Eric Garcia, has extended his contract with the Catalans until the end of June 2031, as announced by the Blaugrana's media service.
Garcia, 24, is a La Masia academy graduate who has been playing for the first team since June 2021. With Barca, the defender has become a two-time Spanish champion (2022-2023, 2024-2025), and a winner of the Copa del Rey (2024-2025) and the Spanish Super Cup (2022-2023, 2024-2025). As part of the Spain national team, Garcia won a bronze medal at Euro 2020 and is the 2024 Olympic champion.
In the 2025-2026 season, Garcia has played 15 matches in the Spanish league, scoring one goal and providing one assist, as well as five matches in the UEFA Champions League. The Transfermarkt website estimates the center-back's market worth at 25 million euros.
