PSG goalkeeper and Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma has turned to a psychologist following the incident where he injured German midfielder Jamal Musiala, according to RMC Sport.
The 22-year-old German suffered a serious injury during a clash with the Italian goalkeeper near the sidelines in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup 2025.
Sources indicate that Gianluigi Donnarumma had extensive discussions with Joaquín Valdés, the sports psychologist for PSGб on the field and in the locker room. The specialist repeatedly reassured the goalkeeper during halftime that he was not at fault for the incident.
However, after the final whistle, Donnarumma remained deeply affected by the incident. He reached out to Jamal Musiala to check on his condition, deciding to message him since Musiala had already left for examinations by the time he visited the Bayern locker room after the match.
It’s worth noting that Jamal Musiala has been diagnosed with a fractured left fibula and ligament damage, and he is expected to be sidelined for at least four to five months.
Earlier, Bayern director Max Eberl criticized Gianluigi Donnarumma after Musiala's injury.
