Dutch foundation Justice for Players is planning to file a lawsuit against the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) by the end of this year.
The lawsuit revolves around transfer regulations. Experts estimate that over 100,000 football players could present compensation claims against FIFA, with the total amount potentially exceeding one billion euros.
The grounds for the lawsuit stem from a decision by the Court of Justice of the European Union made in October 2024, which found some FIFA transfer rules to be inconsistent with legislation.
Previously, it was reported that FIFA lifted a transfer ban imposed on Turkish club Anatalyaspor.
