Dvalishvili Wins Best MMA Fighter ESPY Award

Current UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili won the Best MMA Fighter ESPY Award.

In the voting, the Georgian fighter finished ahead of stars like Islam Makhachev, Dricus du Plessis, and Kayla Harrison.

Dvalishvili, 34, has been competing in the UFC since 2017. He captured the belt in September 2024, defeating Sean O'Malley by unanimous decision. Since then, he has successfully defended the title three times and will have his fourth defense on December 7 against Petr Yan.

The fighters' first meeting took place in March 2023 at UFC Fight Night 221 and ended with Dvalishvili winning by unanimous decision. He holds a record of 21 wins and four losses. Yan holds a record of 19 wins and five losses.
