According to the online publication E Gool, Brazilian club Palmeiras is hoping that Zenit will lower their initial asking price for midfielder Wendel from 20 million to 17 million euros.
Palmeiras believes that Wendel’s desire to return to Brazil, coupled with his dissatisfaction with his current situation at Zenit, will prompt the Russian club to reduce their price.
Previously, there were reports of interest in Wendel from Saudi club Al-Ittihad. They are prepared to purchase the player for 30 million euros.
Wendel has been with the St. Petersburg club since October 2020. He has played in a total of 150 matches, scoring 21 goals and providing 36 assists. His contract with the Russian club runs until the summer of 2028. Transfermarkt estimates the 27-year-old player at 18 million euros.
