England may lose their main right-back at the 2022 World Cup

Chelsea defender Reece James risks missing the 2022 World Cup due to injury, The Guardian reports.

The 22-year-old Englishman was injured in the Champions League group stage match against AC Milan (2-0) on October 11. James underwent additional tests, and it became clear afterwards that the knee injury was more serious than originally thought. The player may have to undergo surgery.

It should be noted that there are 37 days left before the start of the World Cup.

Rees James is 22 years old. He is a ward of Chelsea and has played for the main team of the Londoners since 2019. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the market value of the England player at 60 million euros.

Earlier, Sky Sports expert Paul Merson called James the best right-back in world football at the moment.
