Sports journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that Premier League club Chelsea has approached Italian side AC Milan with a proposal to transfer goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who plays for the French national team.
The source reveals that the Blues are willing to pay €15 million for the 29-year-old goalkeeper. Reports indicate that the London club aims to secure a definitive response regarding Maignan's situation before the transfer window closes, ahead of the Club World Cup.
Maignan's current contract with AC Milan runs until the end of June 2026; however, it was reported on February 16 that he had extended his deal with the Rossoneri until 2028. Additionally, on February 15, Sky Sports announced that PSG are interested in acquiring the French goalkeeper.
In the 2024/2025 season, Maignan played 37 matches in Serie A, achieving 13 clean sheets and conceding 41 goals, along with ten appearances in the UEFA Champions League (one clean sheet, 12 goals conceded). According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €25 million.
