According to journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano, Italian football coach Luciano Spalletti, former manager of Zenit, Roma, Inter, Napoli, and the Italian national team, could take charge of Saudi club Al-Ittihad.
The leadership of the Jeddah-based club is reportedly considering 66-year-old Spalletti as a replacement for Laurent Blanc, who was dismissed after just four rounds of the new Pro League season. Other candidates under consideration include former Barcelona coach Xavi and Sergio Conceicao, recently departed from AC Milan.
Spalletti has been unemployed since June 9 after leaving his post with the Italian national team. On September 5, the media outlet SportMediaset reported that Spalletti was linked to Turkish Super League club Fenerbahçe.
