FIFA's disciplinary committee has decided to extend the suspension of Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, who received a red card during the match against Flamengo.
The second matchday group stage game ended with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Brazilian team. Jackson was sent off in the 68th minute, just four minutes after entering the field, while Chelsea were trailing by two goals.
Reports indicate that in addition to the third-round match against Tunisia's Esperance, the Senegalese forward will also miss Chelsea's Round of 16 match in the 2025 Club World Cup.
Both teams participating in the third round currently have three points after two group matches against Los Angeles and Flamengo.
The Club World Cup is currently underway. You can find the tournament's overview here.
