Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has notified the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) of the need to investigate a potential violation of regulations regarding football agents during Carlo Ancelotti's appointment as the national team's head coach. This was reported by Ge.Globo.
According to reports, the investigation is centered on a commission of 1.2 million euros earmarked for agent Diego Fernandez. FIFA has concerns about Fernandez’s role, especially considering he accompanied Ancelotti during his arrival for the official presentation at the Brazilian Football Confederation.
As a result, FIFA has requested the CBF to provide official contact details for Diego Fernandez and submit clarifications on several points: the CBF’s stance on his involvement in signing the contract with the Italian coach, any communications related to the agreement that mention the agent, copies of all payments made in relation to the contract, and any potential agreements between the confederation and the agent.
It’s worth recalling that on May 23, Real Madrid officially announced Carlo Ancelotti's departure from the club. Shortly after, it became known that the 65-year-old Italian coach would start working with the Brazilian national team.
