Florentino Perez will step down as president of Real Madrid ahead of schedule in 2026, according to journalist Pepe Alvarez on social media.
Perez wants an organized succession, regardless of whether club members approve a referendum or not.
The Spaniard served as president of Real Madrid from 2000 to 2006. He returned to the position in 2009. His current term was set to expire in 2028. Under Perez, Real Madrid have won 37 titles.
