Former Arsenal Captain Xhaka Agrees to Contract with EPL Club

According to insider David Ornstein from The Athletic, Granit Xhaka, who previously played for London’s Arsenal, may be making a return to the English Premier League (EPL).

It is reported that the Swiss midfielder has reached an agreement on personal contract terms with Sunderland, which has recently been promoted to the top tier of English football.

The source states that Xhaka expressed his desire to join Sunderland and is negotiating with his current club, Bayer Leverkusen, to consider the offer. Earlier reports indicated that Sunderland proposed 10 million euros for the 32-year-old defensive midfielder.

There are also reports of interest in Xhaka from clubs like AC Milan and teams from Saudi Arabia. Xhaka played in the EPL from July 2016 to August 2023, and his current contract with Bayer is valid until 2028.
