Arsene Wenger, who previously managed Arsenal in London, named the primary contender to win the 2026 World Cup. In Wenger’s opinion, the France national team is the most likely tournament winner.
Wenger is quoted as saying by journalist Miguel Delaney on social media:
I try to be as objective as possible but France is the super-favourite for one reason: it has more world-class strikers than any other country.
The final match of the 2026 World Cup will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, near New York. The current World Cup title belongs to the Argentina national team, who proved stronger than the French in a penalty shootout in the 2022 final.
