Former Barcelona Player Sergio Busquets Announces Retirement

Sergio Busquets, former Barcelona and Spain midfielder now with Inter Miami, has decided to retire from professional football.

The 37-year-old has also said he will continue playing for one more month.

Busquets’ contract with Inter Miami runs through 2025. Before moving to the U.S. in 2023, he spent 17 seasons at Barcelona, debuting in 2008. He played 722 matches for Barcelona, the third most in club history, winning 32 trophies including nine La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies.

With Spain’s national team, Busquets won one World Cup and one European Championship.
