Lisbon club Sporting announced on its official website that it has bought the remaining 50 percent of the rights to winger Francisco Trincão from Barcelona. The player joined the Portuguese club in the summer of 2023.
In its statement Sporting said it purchased that share for 11 million euros.
Earlier reports said Sporting paid Barcelona 7 million euros in summer 2023 for the initial transfer. In addition, Barcelona will keep 20 percent of any future sale of Francisco Trincão.
Barcelona originally signed the 25-year-old winger from Braga in the summer of 2020. According to Transfermarkt, that deal was worth about 30 million euros.
Last season Trincão became a key attacking player for Sporting, scoring 11 goals and providing 19 assists in 54 matches in all competitions. Transfermarkt currently estimates the Portuguese player at 35 million euros.
