Former Colombian goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon, a member of the FIFA Science and Technology Team in Qatar, named the favorites for the World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina and Brazil, in my opinion, will be very, very strong here. We can't forget about Portugal, Germany. I really like the Spanish team. The French have a lot of injuries. We want to see Belgium at its best. Basically, there will be six to eight teams in the championship race.
The World Cup started on November 20 with a Group A match between Qatar and Ecuador (0-2).
