
Former Liverpool defender and pundit Jamie Carragher said moves such as Alexander Isak to Liverpool and Yoane Wissa to Newcastle could have serious consequences for football.

Other players in this position in a year's time will look at how Isak and Wissa have gone about it and how that gives them a greater opportunity to get out - and that would be a sad day for football. Because I don't think it's been great how both players have conducted themselves.
Earlier reports said Isak boycotted Newcastle training to force a move to Liverpool, while Wissa clashed with Brentford’s management over his desire to join the Magpies.
This summer Premier League clubs set a new record: their total spending amounted to more than £3 billion – about €3.5 billion. Liverpool led the spending, reportedly investing between £415 million and £442 million (roughly €485–515 million).
