Former Serbia Forward Milovanović Dies During Veterans’ Match

Former Serbian footballer Dejan Milovanović died during a veterans’ match. He had come onto the field playing for FK Crvena zvezda’s veterans side, but suffered a heart attack during the game, L’Équipe reports.

According to the report, Milovanović experienced a “double heart attack.” He lost consciousness a few minutes after a goal was scored. Emergency services arrived quickly but were unable to resuscitate him. He was 41.

During his playing career Milovanović represented Serbian clubs Crvena zvezda and Voždovac, French side Lens and Greek club Panionios.

After eight rounds of the 2025-26 Serbian league season, Partizan lead the table with 19 points. Red Star sit second with 18, and Vojvodina are third with 17 points.
