19-year-old midfielder Cristian Totti, the son of the legendary AS Roma striker Francesco Totti, has decided to end his professional football career.
In an interview with La Nuovo, Cristian Totti revealed that he made this decision after several months of being a free agent. He mentioned that he was constantly under media scrutiny and felt pressure due to the challenge of living up to his famous father's legacy.
It’s worth noting that Cristian Totti played in the youth teams of AS Roma and Frosinone, and also had several appearances in Serie D.
Despite ending his professional career, he plans to stay in football and will work at his father's company, focused on scouting young talent.
Francesco Totti played for AS Roma from 1992 to 2017. The capital club is the only team for which he played and became a champion, winning the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana twice.
He is also a World Cup champion, having been part of the Italian national team that won the tournament in 2006.
