
Popular British site Give me Sport has published a ranking of revolutionary players who have had a significant impact on the game.
Topping the list is Johan Cruyff, a three-time Ballon d'Or winner and legendary midfielder of Barcelona and Ajax. The second place goes to Argentine football star Diego Maradona, while third place is occupied by Jean-Marc Bosman.
The top 10 also includes Justin Fashanu, Viv Anderson, Stanley Matthews, Antonin Panenka, Claude Makelele, Manuel Neuer, and Trevor Francis.
Throughout his career, Johan Cruyff played 704 matches, scored 310 goals, and provided 150 assists. The legendary footballer passed away on March 24, 2016, in Barcelona at the age of 68 after a long battle with lung cancer.
Earlier, Lionel Messi, forward for MLS club Inter Miami and the Argentine national team, highlighted the most important moments in the history of Spanish club Barcelona.
Additionally, in celebration of its 125th anniversary, the Catalan club introduced a new mascot – the CAT, as reported by the press service of the Blaugrana.
