Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola spoke about the news that he reached 250 wins faster than anyone else in Premier League history.
On Sunday, October 5, in the seventh round of the English championship, Manchester City secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Brentford.
This match was Guardiola’s 349th in the Premier League. Thus, he surpassed the record of legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who took 404 matches to reach 250 wins in the Premier League.
Following him in the list are former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger with 423 games and current Everton manager David Moyes, who needed 645 matches for the same result.
It's an honour to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, I will invite them to a good dinner. It's a pleasure to be part of that in Premier League history. Really pleased. Now let's go for 250 more!
In addition, Josep Guardiola holds the record for the highest winning percentage in Premier League history – 71.6%. Sir Alex Ferguson ranks second with 65.2%, and Antonio Conte, who previously managed Chelsea and Tottenham, rounds out the top three with 62.9%.
