Kenyan midfielder Shaphan Siwa has left Tanzanian side Kagera Sugar after less than seven months, and linked up with his former coach Francis Baraza at Pamba Jiji FC. Siwa joined Kagera at the start of the year from Tusker FC, but has left the club after it was relegated from the top tier.
And now, he has moved to another Tanzanian Premier League side Pamba, who recently hired Kenyan coach Baraza. Siwa was coached by Baraza in his very first club, the defunct Chemelil Sugar in Kenya.
Speaking to Telecomasia.net after finalizing the move, the playmaker said he was excited and looking forward to perfoming well at his new station.
It was unfortunate that my ambition to help Kagera remain in the league didn’t materialize. I am now looking forward to this new challenge and I am excited about it. It is a new environment but at least now I am used to the league and the demands. I am coming in to work with a coach who I know and who knows me so I know it will not be difficult to adapt. I am coming in with ambition to do better than I did in my first six months in Tanzania.
The midfielder will link up with two other Kenyans in the team, striker Mathew Tegisi and defender Christopher Oruchum who is also the team’s captain.
