According to football journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano, Stefano Pioli, head coach of Italian Serie A club Fiorentina, could step down from his position in the coming days.
The 60-year-old manager, who had already coached Fiorentina from June 2017 to April 2019, returned to lead their first team on July 12. Under Pioli’s guidance this season, the team has yet to secure a single victory in the 2025-26 campaign, having collected only four points and currently sitting in 19th place (second to last) in the Italian league standings. They are ahead of only Genoa, which has one fewer point and a game in hand.
It has been reported that one of the leading candidates to replace Pioli at Fiorentina is former Spartak Moscow head coach Paolo Vanoli, who is currently without a club.
