Inter's Head Coach Suspended for One Match Over Mafia Connection

Simone Inzaghi, the head coach of Inter, and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu have been given one-match suspensions and monetary fines due to alleged connections with the mafia, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The investigation revealed that Inzaghi and Calhanoglu communicated with an ultra representative linked to mafia clans regarding the distribution of additional tickets for the 2023 Champions League final against Manchester City.

Inzaghi has been fined €15,000, while Calhanoglu faces a €30,000 fine. Both will miss the match in the 35th round of Serie A against Verona, scheduled for May 3 at 21:45 GMT+3.

Currently, the Nerazzurri sit in second place in the Serie A standings with 71 points.

Earlier, it was reported that Inzaghi achieved 200 wins in the Italian league faster than anyone else.
