Esteglal defender Armin Sohrabian has been temporarily suspended from team training after a video appeared online in which he is holding a glass of alcohol, thenewregion.com reports, citing the Fars agency.
The video prompted a strong reaction from Iranian authorities, as the consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the country. The case has been handed over to Esteglal's disciplinary committee. Armin has been suspended from training until the investigation is concluded, the source reports.
Sohrabian has played for Esteglal since January 2025. In the 2025-26 season, he has appeared in five matches across all competitions without recording any goal contributions.
After 10 rounds of the 2025-26 Iranian Pro League season, Esteglal are in third place in the table with 16 points. In the next round, the team will meet Foolad. The match will take place on November 30 and will kick off at 15:45 GMT+3.
