Italian Fans Urged to Boycott Match Against Israel

The 2026 World Cup qualifier between Italy and Israel is scheduled for October 14 in Udine, Italy. Several local public organizations have voiced opposition to holding the match in the city. They are calling on fans to boycott the game and instead attend events supporting Palestine.

Initially, Udine’s mayor, Alberto Felice De Toni, publicly stated that the match should not take place in the city, yet no definite steps were taken to cancel the event. As of now, the Italy vs. Israel match remains scheduled for October 14, with the city administration expressing concerns about possible unrest on game day.

In the qualifying group I standings, Israel holds third place with 9 points. Italy is second with an equal number of points, while Norway leads the group with 15 points.
