Kepa Arrizabalaga says his in-demand teammate Antoine Semenyo has all the attributes to become an outstanding top player.
Both Kepa and Semnyo helped Bournemouth to a special Premier League season.
Semenyo scored 11 Premier League goals to help Bournemouth finish a respectable ninth- just a few points off a European spot while Kepa rediscovered his form at the Vitality.
Both players face uncertain futures with Semenyo strongly linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s top six clubs.
He told Telecom Asia exclusively after the defeat to Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium:
I think he’s very humble. He wants to learn every day, and for me, this is very important for young players, he’s always open to listening to good advice.
He has very strong physicality, he’s very powerful. He can shoot with both feet and play on either wing, which we’ve made good use of this season. I think he’s growing a lot and he has the world in front of him.
Semenyo has been a breath of fresh air since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City tow seasons ago and his form has ensured that Andoni Iraola’s side remained competitive against some of the biggest teams in the league.
The future of Kepa is also uncertain as he signed a one-year contract extension with Chelsea before going on loan to Bournemouth. With Chelsea now in the market for a new goalkeeper, it remains to be seen where he will play next season.
