
Jürgen Klopp, former manager of English club Liverpool, has expressed his dissatisfaction with FIFA regarding the format of the Club World Cup.
The German coach believes that the congested match schedule for the upcoming season poses a serious threat of increased injuries among players.

This is the worst idea ever implemented in football. I fear that next season players will suffer an unprecedented number of injuries.
Klopp pointed to examples from the NBA, where star basketball players, who earn comparable or even higher salaries, enjoy a four-month break. He noted that Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk will not have that much time off throughout his entire professional career.
