Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp responded to a question about a possible return to Liverpool on the YouTube channel The Diary of a CEO.
According to Klopp, he has said he would never coach another English team, so if he returns to England as a manager, it would only be to the Merseysiders.
I said I will never coach another team, a different team, in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool … yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.
Klopp managed Liverpool from the 2015-16 season through the 2023-24 season. Under his leadership, the Reds played 489 matches in all competitions, winning 304, drawing 100, and losing 85. During his tenure, the team won the Premier League, Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup.
Recently, Liverpool lost 1-2 to Manchester United in the eighth round of the 2025-26 Premier League season and currently sit third in the table. In the ninth round, the reigning English champions will face Brentford on October 25 at 22:00 GMT+3.
