Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp told Kicker that he would not be able to lead any team right now. The German left his coaching position in 2024.
According to him, he has the energy, but it’s not enough to take charge of a club at this moment.
To say now: Okay, let’s start from scratch like we did in 2015 and turn everything upside down? No, I wouldn’t have the strength for that.
Previously, Klopp hinted he might return as Liverpool’s head coach. He led the Reds from the 2015-16 season through 2023-24. Under his leadership, the team played 489 matches across all competitions, winning 304 times, drawing 100, and losing 85. During his tenure, the club won the Premier League, the Champions League, and the UEFA Super Cup.
The day before, Liverpool lost 1-2 to Manchester United in the eighth round of the 2025-26 Premier League season and currently sit third in the table. In the ninth round, the reigning English champions will face Brentford on October 25 at 22:00 GMT+3.
