Filippo Inzaghi, head coach of Italian Serie A debutant club Pisa, 2006 World Champion of Italy, two-time UEFA Champions League winner (2002/2003, 2006/2007), will leave his post.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 51-year-old Pippo will move back to Serie B to take charge of Palermo. In the coming days, Inzaghi Sr. will reportedly sign a two-year deal with the rosanero, with an option to extend in case of the club's promotion. Moreover, the Sicilians will pay Pisa about 700 thousand euros for breaking the current contract of the coach.
Recall that at the end of the season-2024/2025 Pisa under Inzaghi took second place in the standings of Serie B (76 points for 38 rounds) and advanced to the elite division of the Italian championship for the first time since 1991. Palermo are eighth with 52 points.
On June 3, the press service of Inter Milan officially announced the departure of 49-year-old Simone Inzaghi, the younger brother of the specialist, from the post of head coach of the Nerazzurri. It was reported that Inzaghi Jr. will soon become the coach of Saudi Arabian Al-Hilal.
