La Liga president Javier Tebas criticized the English Premier League for excessive spending, saying that the league operates at a loss.
Javier Tebas for Mundo Deportivo
The Premier League is set up so that it loses money. That creates a huge inflationary effect across the rest of Europe. They make many transfers, but they don’t manage to secure the stars. We still have more European titles than the Premier League
Tebas has also supported introducing coach challenges for VAR and suggested testing the system in Spain. He has repeatedly criticized current VAR procedures and argued that disputes over refereeing decisions harm the sporting aspect of the game.
